To begin with... this question has two answers
1-No
2- Yes
But I will go with first option, some people may suggest you ,yes there is no problem in sleeping at 12:00am and waking up at 8:00 am,but this is not a proper advice if you want healthy and energetic life full of positive energy inside you.
Yea,you are still getting your stipulated sleep of 8hrs ,but then you are missing various benefits by waking up late.
Just take an example:- if you briefly go through the sucess story of few successful people you will find one thing common in them…their waking time is between 4–6 am with most of them waking up around 5am. Now if you further explore their story you will find that they don't do anything different they just wisely utilize that morning time when most of the people are asleep , In this way these people are daily 2–3hrs ahead of general public and that's what makes the difference.
You may now argue that people sleeping late can bridge that gap of 2–3hrs , you are right they can, but where they can find that energy after hectic days work? ,But if you say I accept they may be able to bridge the gap, But….their efforts are wasted only bridging the gap they can't go ahead still they will be a step back.
So in nut-shell….. Besides health benefits waking up early keeps your mind fresh and makes it ready to think something innovative and new Also in accepting new challenges, which you are deprived of when you wake up late.
We can talk more on this with many other examples which proves 8hrs sleep from 10 to 6 is better than 12 to 8.
